Welcome to another Marvelous in My Monday post!
Here’s the recap:
Friday night, I hit the town with some friends for another friend’s birthday :) Was fun to get all dolled up for the first time in a while!
Unfortunately, that night resulted in me getting about 3 hours of sleep, and I had to sit through an 8 hour class that day. Luckily, class was with a few friends and we got an hour lunch break, during which we went and got sushi.
And now my whole life has changed.
I had no idea the variety of vegan and cooked rolls that were available! I never thought I liked sushi b/c it was raw fish, but there are plenty of options. I even got mine with brown rice to kick up the health factor, and it was SO DELICIOUS.
[This IS going somewhere...stick with me...]
Saturday night I went to bed early and slept for 12+ hours. My body needed to play catch up!
The hubby and I awoke and made some delicious Brendan Brazier Thrive Diet Buckwheat Pancakes with blueberries for breakfast :)
Then, we both had training runs planned for our days – 6 miles for me, 10 for him.
This was the perfect pre-run carboload, as I was heading out for a 6-mile half marathon training run and hoping to PR.
Long story short…
I DID IT! I ran my 6 miles not only the fastest I have ever run 6 miles, but the fastest pace I have ever run 3 or more miles IN MY LIFE.
My first time EVER breaking an 8 min/mi pace!!!
I couldn’t believe it. I was shocked. Stunned. So happy :)
So, obviously, this called for…
Yeah, yeah – 2 times in 2 days. I earned it, people.
Someone posted this on Instagram the other day, and I love it :)
Being vegan really isn’t that difficult! I can still enjoy pretty much any restaurant and have delicious treat meals just like anyone else.
I hope y’all had an equally FABULOUS weekend, and let me know your thoughts on running pace down below!
When running a half marathon or longer, do you just push as hard as you can the whole time? Do you run slower at first and get faster as you go? Or do you just aim for a steady pace?
Not sure what to do…
Cheers to CRUSHING IT,
